DAIFUKU:

Daifuku reported a sale of 512.2 billion Yen (USD 4.64 Billion) in FY 2021 with an order intake of 589.0 billion Yen (USD 5.34 Billion). Japan, North America and Asia (ex-Japan) contributed 35.5%, 26.6%, and 31.8% respectively of its overall sale. Total revenue is dominated by 3 industry verticals i.e., Automobile & Auto Parts (11.5%), Electronics & Cleanroom Systems (29.4%), and Retail & Commerce (30.1%). Services comprises a significant share of 27% in net sales. Daifuku has forecasted a revenue of 565 billion yen (USD 5.12 Billion) for FY 2022 i.e., 10.3% YoY.

Company has a strong portfolio of storage and retrieval solutions and caters unit load AS/RS, mini load AS/RS, high density AS/RS, and heavy load storage through stacker cranes, Carousel, and shuttle systems. Their Shuttle Rack D-Three is ideal for the storage of large-lot products and raw materials such food, beverages, and chemicals. The system allows the better use of floor space compared to conventional, manual approaches where pallets are stored flat or stacked on warehouse floors. Daifuku offers a variety of AS/RS stacker cranes to fit the specific load profile and weight for high-density pallet storage, high-speed operation, and versatility.

DEMATIC:

Dematic reported a sale of 3.80 billion euros (USD 4.64 Billion) in FY 2021 having 44.5% YoY growth with an order intake of 4.33 billion euros (USD 5.34 Billion). Services are contributing one-fifth of its overall revenue and is supposed to be high growing segment considering a huge installed base. Americas has been the top most region for Dematic with 68% share followed by Europe having 28% share. Company has been receiving its more than 50% orders from Pure-play Ecommerce and General Merchandise industries followed by Apparel, Food & beverage, and Grocery segments. Dematic has forecasted a revenue of more than 4 billion euros in FY 2022 considering ~10% YoY growth, with an order intake between 4.4 billion euros and 5 billion euros.

Company has a wide range of storage and retrieval solutions including mini load AS/RS, unit load AS/RS, high density storage, overhead storage (garments on hanger), and pallet storage through shuttles, stacker cranes, and AutoStore. Dematic Storage & Retrieval Machines (SRMs) rapidly move loads of up to 1,800 kilograms in and out of a secured rack structure that can be over 42 meters tall. Dematic Unit-Load AS/RS systems offer outstanding space utilization in ambient, chilled, or freezer environments with single, double, and multi-deep satellite storage options. These SRMs can achieve throughput rates as high as 60 loads in/out per hour.

ROBOTECHLOG:

ROBOTECHLOG had a sale of more than 500 million USD in 2021, mainly from storage and retrieval systems only. Company offers 3 types of products i.e., stackers, multi-shuttle, and hoisters but major revenue is contributed by stackers. Company has manufactured around 2800 Storage & Retrieval Machines (SRM) sets in last 5 years and is expected to manufacture 1000 SRM sets in 2022. ROBOTECHLOG total revenue is dominated by Energy (16%), Manufacturing (12%), and Print (11%) industry verticals followed by Petrochemicals and Food & Beverages. Company gets its major revenue from China although they do have a good presence in Europe along with R&D and manufacturing unit.

ROBOTECHLOG has a rich product offering of SRM systems for unit load and mini load stacker cranes. Apart this, they do have multi-shuttle, Dorado as well. Company provides a good stacker production selection range on the basis of load, speed and height such as Bull, Lion, Giraffe, Panther, Zebra, and Cheetah offering the load range of 0-15000 Kg, Height range of 5000-46000 mm, and travelling speed range of 180-360 m/mm.

TOYOTA ADVANCED LOGISTICS:

Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) has created the Toyota Advanced Logistics Group to complement their Toyota Material Handling Group with advanced logistics services. We have considered Vanderlande, Bastian Solutions, and Viastore as a part of this group. Vanderlande has reported a revenue of 2.4 billion euros in FY 2021, with an order intake of 2.36 billion euros. Similarly, Bastian Solutions and Viastore had an approximate annual sale of 425 million USD and 145 million euros respectively in 2021. Bastian Solutions has a strong presence in United States as a part of Toyota Advanced Logistics North America Group but Vanderlande and Viastore are more active in European region.

Vanderlande is having its crane-and-rail system as Quickstore mini-load for storing cartons, totes and trays which are ideal for fashion and general merchandise sectors. Apart this, they do have their 3D shuttle-based system called ADAPTO which delivers goods in the appropriate order to the correct picking station with scalability options. Bastian Solutions is having a wider offering with unit-load AS/RS, pallet shuttle AS/RS, mini-load AS/RS, Shuttles, VLM, and Carousels. Apart this, they are an official distributor of AutoStore. Viastore is known for its mini-load systems and unit-load storage for pallet storage. Also, Viastore’s Tray storage systems can be planned with single or multiple aisles and built up to 20 meters high. The system is based on a viaspeed XL storage and retrieval machine (AS/RS).

MURATEC (Murata Machinery):

Muratec reported a sale of 391.8 billion Yen (USD 3.55 Billion) in FY 2021 having 58% YoY growth. It includes other divisions like Clean Factory Automation, Machine Tools, and Textile Machinery along with Logistics & Automation division. Muratec offers all types of AS/RS solutions including stacker cranes, shuttle system – Uni-SHUTTLE HP, Goods to Person (G2P) 3D Robot System – Alphabot, Overhead System – SKY RAV, Gantry Robots, and Cold Storage solutions. Company has its strong presence in Japan and USA.

Muratec has an extensive experience in AS/RS various packing styles, such as pallets, containers, rolls, cases (free size), crates, long items, and heavy loads. It has been providing its solutions for cold storage and hazardous materials warehouses as well.
